About Department

Department of Computer Science runs two Programmes B.TECH. (Computer Science and Business Systems) and B. TECH (Computer Science and Engineering).

Software industry is offering a four year specialized B.Tech course titled “Computer Science and Business Systems” (CSBS) to cater to the rising need of engineering talent with skills in technology. This state-of-art course aims to impart knowledge of cutting-edge technologies and business skills with hands-on exposure to make students industry ready. It is a four-year undergraduate programme, which has commenced from the academic year 2018-19.

The main goal of this course is to make sure that the students not only know the core topics of Computer Science but also develop an equal understanding of humanities, human values and management sciences. The students also get good industrial exposure to emerging topics such as Analytics, Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, Internet of Things etc.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering was established in 2020 with the aim to impart world-class education and prepare students for their future careers. The research-intensive academic programmes offered by the department are focused on solving problems, mostly troubleshooting issues at the software level. The major focus is given to software modeling and software fundamentals. It also emphasizes Joint Learning through industry-relevant courses and research.

The curriculum of the B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering programme establishes a strong foundation to help students prepare themselves for their careers in the field of computer science and engineering. The industry experts actively participate in the curriculum design process and ensure that the curriculum is in accordance with the latest trends in industry and technology. They actively participate in the industry-relevant courses from the second year onwards.

In this Vocational courses, MOOCs and projects-based learning has been included as part of the new syllabus. Students are exposed to industrial environment through 60 days internship. Apart from routine academic the department is associated with several other academic activities like conducting seminars, workshops, conferences, expert lectures etc. through which it updates the practical aspects through Industry -Institute interaction.
