Brief Information of Constituent Unit
Dental College and Hospital, a jewel in the crown of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, was established in 1989. The college has been recognized by the Dental Council of India. Over the years, this college has earned recognition and reputation at the National level. Currently, under graduate course with an intake of 100 students per year, Post graduate courses in eight subjects with an intake of 42 students per year and PhD in 8 subjects are being offered at this college. The courses offered are recognized by the Dental Council of India. The college is provided with huge space for its clinics and laboratories which are equipped with modern equipment and materials.
It has full access to the advanced operation theatre complex of 900 bedded Bharati Hospital. Besides other equipments, the laboratories are equipped with advanced technologies like titanium casting equipment, ceramic fabrication systems, laser equipment, research microscopes and digital imaging systems. The total built up area of the building is 207000 sq. feet which includes research wing of 60000 sq. feet. Students are also benefitted with an excellent library with National and International journals, and e-access. Students are given training in basic medical and dental sciences, research methodology, biostatistics, evidence-based methods, computer applications, presentation skills and professional ethics. Training is also provided in multi-speciality and multi-system management of patients. A highly interactive learning environment has been a unique feature of our training program. Regular Continuing Professional & Personal Development programs to keep the students and faculty abreast with the latest knowledge, materials and techniques are a hallmark of the program structure. Additionally value-based and skill development programmes (for e.g. dental practice management course) are also conducted for the benefit of students.
An exhaustive collection of resources with internet facility in all departments, teaching -learning aids and material in every department form the backbone of the undergraduate and postgraduate training program. A varied and large number of patients inculcate the confidence required for independent speciality practice in our students.
The institute also organizes various social awareness programmes and dental check-ups and treatment camps for the physically and economically challenged sections of our community, through the NSS unit and departments of Public Health Dentistry and Paediatric & Preventive Dentistry. Students are sensitized to human, cultural and environmental values. Community/NSS units foster the spirit of community service and National development.

Our College is ranked 12th best dental college in India and the best private college in Maharashtra. (Outlook – MDRA Survey 2010). Our University has been reaccredited with “A+” Grade By National Assessment & Accreditation Council in 2017. Our University has also been awarded ‘A’ Grade by MHRD, Govt. of India. The college tries to achieve its objectives through academic and related activities: teachers create awareness of phenomena and love of learning. Literary events and sports help develop communication skills, leadership qualities, team-spirit and employability. College activities facilitate scientific mindset and a multi-dimensional personality.
