About Department

The Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery is an integral part of the Dental Hospital. Also, there is provision for treatment of facial fractures and we have a team of experts including dedicated faculty members for management of cleft lip and cleft palate.
Highlights

  • Minor surgeries
  • Biopsies
  • Advanced surgeries including orthognathic surgeries, management of cyst and tumors, oral malignancy and dental implants

In order to ensure smooth and effective functioning of the department, new equipment have been procured so that the patients are treated swiftly and effectively within a short span of time. Meanwhile, the procedures that fall under the category of minor oral surgery are conducted regularly and fall under the new minor oral surgery section.

There is an emergency casualty team that is available at Bharati Hospital on a regular basis. Also, there is the trauma centre where emergency cases related to accidents are dealt with and transfer of patients from the ambulances to the operation theatre is done smoothly and quickly from the casualty entrance to the operation theatre via a specially designed ramp.

The Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery has also developed a fully functional state-of-the-art operation theatre complex. This complex is fully equipped with surgical & adjunctive gadgets and treatment is provided to indoor patients. Also, there are surgical light systems, cardiac monitors, pulse oximeters, cautery systems and other such related devices and equipment. Those patients who undergo operation are also monitored at the recovery rooms. We also have spaciously designed wards (40 beds) in Bharati Hospital and it is here that the hospitalization needs of the patients who have undergone major surgeries as well as those requiring special attention are well taken care of.

The facilities that are available at Bharati Hospital include intensive care units, blood transfusion, neonatal care, etc. Additional staff members and auxiliary staff have been added to existing staff structure to satisfy the requirements of the various sections of the department.
