About Department

The Department of Electrical Engineering at Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University College of Engineering, Pune was established in the year 1987 with the approval of AICTE, New Delhi with an intake capacity of 60 students.

The department offers programmes at B.Tech. (Electrical), M.Tech. (Power Systems) & Ph.D. levels. The salient features of the department include its spacious infrastructure, well-equipped laboratories, meritorious students, highly qualified and enthusiastic faculty, and innovative and project-based teaching and learning.

Academic Experience

We provide an exceptional academic experience to our students. Apart from following the routine academic curriculum, our electrical engineering department takes a keen interest in several academic activities including project-based learning, Saturday@bvucoe, seminars, skill-based activities, expert lectures, etc., and equips students with the practical aspects of electrical engineering through industry-institute interaction. We have a liaison with more than 76 industries and have an industry-based electric vehicle laboratory. A 45-day in-plant training is an integral part of our programme, which helps our final year students to gain exposure to the industrial environment.

Academic Curriculum

The curriculum of our department has been so designed that students are well exposed to the needs of the industry

The department is actively involved in research and the faculty members are involved in publishing of research papers in various journals and conferences which are indexed by Google scholar, Science Citation Index (SCI) and Scopus. The overall citation of the papers published by the department is more than 1300 and an H-Index of 15. Till date 11 faculty members have completed their Ph.D. and 8 faculty members are currently pursuing Ph.D.

Accreditation

The Electrical Engineering department has been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) in 2005, 2012, 2018, and 2020 for its academic excellence.
