The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at BVDUCOE has cultivated a strong research culture, working in diverse areas such as Renewable Energy Systems, Electric Vehicles, Electrical Machines, Power Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Internet of Things (IoT), Cybersecurity, and Embedded Systems. In the last three years, the department has published over 150 research papers in reputed national and international journals, showcasing its academic strength and innovation.
With more than 17 patents to its credit, the department stands as a hub of research and technological advancement. Our laboratories are modern, well-equipped, and aligned with the latest academic and industrial needs. Specialized labs include the Electric Vehicle Lab, Switchgear & Protection Lab, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning Lab, IoT & High-Performance Computing Lab. These facilities have been established with strong industry collaboration and supported by investments of over ₹20 lakhs from partners such as L&T, Propellex Solutions, and Sensycon Controls.
The curriculum was revised in 2023 in line with the National Education Policy (NEP), ensuring a balance between electrical engineering fundamentals and cutting-edge computer technologies. To enhance student skills, vocational courses, industry-taught modules, and MOOCs have been integrated. The department also facilitates extensive industry interaction through 60-day in-plant training and sponsored project opportunities.
Our student association, ELECSA (Electrical & Computer Engineering Students Association), is a dynamic and energetic body that organizes a variety of co-curricular and extracurricular activities, providing a vibrant platform for holistic development.
The department is dedicated to producing competent engineers who combine strong technical knowledge with practical skills, enabling them to excel in both core engineering and rapidly evolving IT domains.
