Overview

The full-fledged College of Nursing was set up in Navi Mumbai in 2009 by Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University.

The college has excellent infrastructure comprising of well-structured, spacious classrooms, laboratories with the latest equipment, well-equipped library with a large collection of national and international books, journal and e-journals, and hostels with all required facilities and necessary amenities so as to make the stay of the students comfortable.

The college was set up with an aim to train the students to become competent nurses for first level positions in nursing. The institute offers a four-year programme leading to the B.Sc. Nursing Degree, two-year P.B.B.Sc. nursing programme and two year M.Sc Nursing Degree. The objective is to develop professionals who would be able to provide quality care in hospitals and serve the community at large.

In the 21st century, there is a need to meet the changing dynamics of the patients, hence the need to have qualified nurses is essential. At the College of Nursing, all possible steps have been taken to provide dynamic training to the students. The focus is on innovative and ICT-based teaching-learning strategies so that the students are prepared to meet the demands of the changing times.

The College of Nursing, Navi Mumbai ensures that the highest quality of education and training is provided to the students so that they can serve with efficiency in the hospitals and the community. Ethical practices and values are inculcated in the nurses so that they discharge their duties flawlessly.

Apart from the theoretical knowledge, clinical teaching and training is also imparted to the students at the 310 bedded Bharati Vidyapeeth Medicover Hospital in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, 392-bedded Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation Hospital at Vashi, Meenatai Thakre Hospital, Nerul, Fortis Hospital, Mulund, Mumbai, Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Centre for Child Heart Care, Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, Jagruti Rehabilitation Centre, Navi Mumbai, Manav Neuro Psychiatric Hospital, Kalyan, Mumbai, B. Y. L Nair Charitable Hospital, Mumbai, Reliance Hospital, Koparkhairne, Navi Mumbai, Mahatma Gandhi Mission Hospital, Kalamboli, Navi Mumbai, Urban Health Centre, CBD Belapur and Rural Health Centre, Wavanje
