🎯 Functions & Academic Role of the Research Committee at BVDUIHMCT-PUNE

1. Policy Implementation & Guidance

Enforces the university’s Research and Consultancy Policy, aligning research efforts with institutional goals and NEP 2020.

Guides faculty and students to pursue ethical, relevant, and high-quality research.

2. Research Proposal Evaluation

Reviews and evaluates proposals for Seed Money Projects.

Recommends suitable projects for funding, especially interdisciplinary or high-impact studies.

3. Monitoring Research Progress

Periodically monitors the progress of ongoing research projects.

Ensures timely submission of utilization certificates, progress reports, and final outcomes to the university’s RDC (Research Development Committee).

4. Publication and Patent Support

Encourages publication in indexed journals (Scopus, WoS, UGC Care).

Promotes patent filing, innovation, and the creation of intellectual property by faculty and students.

5. Capacity Building & Mentorship

Organizes workshops, research methodology training, and FDPs to enhance research capabilities.

Provides mentorship to young faculty and student researchers.

6. Ethical Clearance and Oversight

Ensures that all research, especially involving human or food subjects, follows ethical guidelines.

Collaborates with the Institutional Ethics Committee when needed.

7. Internal Quality Support

Works with IQAC (Internal Quality Assurance Cell) to maintain and improve academic standards through research-based activities.

8. Alumni & Industry Engagement

Encourages collaborative research with alumni and industry stakeholders to address real-world problems and promote consultancy.

9. Conference and Seminar Participation

Screens and approves faculty applications for national and international conferences, ensuring relevance and quality contribution.

Coordinates funding utilization for travel and registration.

10. Creating a Research Culture

Promotes student involvement in research projects at UG and PG levels.

Encourages integration of case studies, live projects, and field research into classroom teaching.
